The person who mills your timber is the person who delivers your piece. No subcontracted joinery, no hand-offs.

Timber you can trace

Every commission ships with a provenance card naming the species, the yard, and the month it was cut.

Built to be fixed, not replaced

Joined, not fastened, so a wobble or a scratch is an afternoon repair instead of a trip to landfill.

Fenwick & Grain started in a two-car garage with one lathe and a waitlist of neighbours. We kept it small on purpose: one queue, one maker per piece, and margin notes in the maker's own hand on every card that leaves the bench.

Questions Before You Commission

How long does a commission take?

Most pieces take six to ten weeks from deposit to delivery, depending on timber and season. You get a real date at the quote stage, not a guess.

Can I choose the timber myself?

Yes. We show you what's in the yard, talk through what suits your piece, and send photos of your actual board before anything is cut.

Do you deliver outside the region?

We crate and freight nationwide, and quote international shipping on request. The same workshop that builds your piece builds the crate.

What if I want to change the design partway through?

Changes are easy before the first cut. Once timber is milled we'll tell you plainly what's still possible and what isn't.
