# Read your traffic in the portal

> Your site's traffic is in the portal beside the site itself, rather than in a separate tool you have to keep a second login for.

---

Your site's traffic is in the portal. It sits beside the site rather than in a separate product with its own login.

## Where to find it

Two clicks from any page on this site.

1. Open [/portal/](/portal/) and sign in.
2. Choose the site, then **Analytics**.

## What to look at first

Three questions answer most of what a site owner needs.

- **How many people came**, and whether that is more or fewer than last month.
- **What they looked at**, so you know which page is doing the work.
- **What they did next**, because a visit that ends in an enquiry is the only one that pays.

## Reading it honestly

Three habits that stop a dashboard misleading you.

- **Compare like with like.** A week against the same week, not against a holiday.
- **Watch the trend, not the day.** One quiet Tuesday is weather, not a signal.
- **Follow the enquiries, not the visits.** A page with fewer visitors and more calls is the better page.

## Connecting your own tools

The portal is not the only option.

- **[Integrations](/integrations/)** lists what connects to a site we host.
- **You can run your own analytics** alongside ours if you already have one you trust.

## What we do not do with it

Worth saying, since it is your visitors' data.

- **We do not sell it.**
- **What we collect, and which processors see it**, is set out in the [privacy policy](/legal/privacy/) and summarised on [what data we hold, and where](/docs/security/what-data-we-hold-and-where/).
