Kestrel Hollow states its process plainly because the right people find that reassuring. Members are proposed by members, known to the club before they are asked, and welcomed for good once they are in.

KESTREL HOLLOW GOLF CLUB
Monday to Friday golf with the full run of the house. The quiet card: favoured by members who like the course best when the working week has it to itself.
KESTREL HOLLOW GOLF CLUB
For members whose homes are sixty miles or more from the gates. A dozen rounds a season, letters of introduction to reciprocal clubs, and a locker that waits.
Four steps, no mystery. The friction is the point: it is how the club stays the club.
Write to the Membership Director. Tell us who you are, how you play, and whether anyone at the club already knows your name.
Play the course as a member's guest and take dinner afterwards. Both sides are deciding, which is how it should be.
A member proposes you and a second supports you, in writing, in the book that has recorded every candidate since 1924.
The committee sits quarterly and writes to every candidate either way. If a category is full, your name holds its place on the list.
The Enquiry
No forms in triplicate and no sales call. A letter or an email is enough; say who you are and how you came to the Hollow, and the club will take it from there.
The Membership Director reads every enquiry personally and will be in touch.
