No mystery grading
Three rules cover most loads. Learn them once and you will never feel silly at a scrap window again, ours or anyone's.
- RULE 01GRADED AT THE SCALE
Shiny and clean pays Nº1
Bright copper with no solder, paint or fittings takes the top of the board. One soldered joint in the bundle grades the lot Nº2, so cut it out before you come.
- RULE 02GRADED AT THE SCALE
The magnet never lies
If a magnet sticks, it is steel money. If it doesn't, it is worth more. Sort the two piles at home and the window pays you for both, correctly.
- RULE 03GRADED AT THE SCALE
Sorted beats mixed, every time
Ten minutes of sorting in the driveway routinely adds more per kilogram than an hour of haggling. Mixed loads get priced at the lowest metal in the pile.

WE TAKE
- Copper, brass, lead and stainless
- Insulated cable and household wire
- Steel, beams and stripped whitegoods
- Complete cars, utes and light trucks
- Cat converters, serial number intact
- Electric motors and transformers, drained
WE CAN'T TAKE
- Gas bottles, sealed or "empty"
- Asbestos or anything that held it
- Fridges and ACs still holding gas
- Sealed drums and tanks of any kind
- Metal without photo ID, no exceptions
