Start your job · the consult

Start your job.

Thirty minutes on your site with a carpenter who builds for a living. You get straight answers on scope, budget and timing; we get the four facts a proper price is built on.

We reply within one working day. If we are not the right fit for the job, we will say so and point you somewhere honest.

The visit

Ray or Marcus walks the site with you, measures what matters, and talks through what your budget genuinely buys. No folder of glossy laminate, no signing on the day.

  • Decks from $28,000
  • Renovations from $45,000
  • Fit-outs from $60,000

The consult costs nothing. If you continue to design, the design fee is credited against your build.

Hall 01 · four questions

Four questions before we visit.

Answer these in your first email and the consultation starts a week ahead of itself.

  1. 01

    What are we building?

A deck, a renovation, a staircase, a fit-out. One line is plenty; we will ask the rest on site.

  2. 02

    What is the budget band?

A range is fine. It decides species and scope before anyone draws a thing, and it saves you a fortnight of polite guessing.

  3. 03

When does it need to happen?

We book twelve projects a year. Honest timing tells us which quarter to hold, or whether to say no early.

  4. 04

    Where is the site?

Suburb and access. A tight site changes the method and the program, never the standard.

What happens after you write.

  1. 01 · The consult

Thirty minutes on your site with Ray or Marcus. We measure, we listen, and we tell you on the spot whether the budget and the idea belong together.

    No money changes hands

  2. 02 · Design & spec

Drawings, species, fixings and finishes settled on paper, where changes cost conversation instead of carpentry.

Design fee, credited to the build

  3. 03 · The fixed quote

Every line item priced: materials, labour, disposal, the lot. The number you sign is the number you pay.

    10% deposit locks your slot

  4. 04 · The build

One crew, a dated program, and a swept site every afternoon. You get the foreman's number, not a call centre.

Staged payments at frame & lock-up

  5. 05 · Handover

A walkthrough board by board, the warranty in writing, and a site cleaner than the day we arrived.

Final 10% when you are happy

Have these ready

  • Photos of the space, phone quality is fine
  • Any drawings, plans or saved pictures you like
  • Your budget band, even a rough one
  • The date that matters, if one does

Before you write.

Is the consultation really free?

Yes. The visit and the straight answers cost nothing. Design work is the first thing we charge for, and that fee is credited against your build.

How soon can you start?

Design can usually start within a fortnight. Build slots depend on the calendar: twelve projects a year, two open this quarter. The earlier the consult, the better the pick.

Do you work with builders and architects?

Constantly. Builders get the capability sheet and a foreman's number; architects get a carpenter who prices off their drawings instead of around them.

The calendar fills by referral. Get in early.
