Adopted cats leave this page the afternoon they leave the lounge. A stale roster breaks hearts at the door, so updating it is a closing-time chore, same as the dishes.
02 — THE ALUMNI WALL
When a cat leaves, we draw them in one line of ink and they join the wall for good. Sixty-one so far. We are running out of wall, which is the best problem we have.

03 — HOW ADOPTION WORKS

Usually mid-session, usually not the cat you came for. Tell the counter before you leave.

A relaxed hour with Paper Lantern Rescue, in the lounge, cat present and voting.

A quick call about windows, balconies and other pets. The rescue's adoption fee covers vet work already done.

You collect your cat at closing time, the room says goodbye, and the drawing goes up on the wall.
No same-day adoptions, ever. The pause is the point: cats are decisions, not souvenirs.
04 — WELFARE, IN WRITING
The lounge only works if the cats would choose it. These are the working rules that keep it that way, posted here and on the wall by the vestibule.
Eight cats maximum on the floor, each with a private off-duty berth in the loft no guest can reach.
Monthly vet rounds; vaccination, microchip and desexing before any cat joins the room.
Guests capped at ten per hour and children only in Family Hour, one adult apiece.
Staff trained to read ears and tails; any cat showing stress clocks off, no discussion.
The litter room vents to the street and the food line never crosses the cat line.
Full cleaning between every session; the lounge closes two hours before the counter does.
