Hadria
The Surgeon

The hands you meet are the hands that operate.

Dr. Elena Sava founded Hadria in 2012 after a decade of specialist training and public hospital theatre lists. This page is the longer account of who she is, how she works, and who works beside her.

Chapter I · The Philosophy

Surgery, decided slowly.

Dr. Elena Sava founded Hadria in 2012 after a decade of specialist training and public hospital theatre lists. Her practice is deliberately narrow: face, breast, body and skin, in small numbers, done carefully.

About one in five consultations ends without a recommendation for surgery. When an operation is not indicated, or when what you want is not what surgery can honestly give, she declines, and tells you why in the same sitting.

When surgery is indicated, it is planned conservatively and scheduled without haste. You will never be asked to decide in the room. Most patients take two weeks to decide; some take two years. Both are fine here.

Every operation carries risk. We will discuss yours plainly.

Chapter II · Training

A decade of training before the doors opened.

Dr. Sava completed specialist training in plastic and reconstructive surgery across public hospital units before opening Hadria in 2012. Her registration is printed on every document the practice issues, and you are welcome to verify it.

Her practice is deliberately narrow: face, breast, body and skin, in small numbers. Theatre lists are kept short enough that every patient is reviewed by her, the same week, every time.

Theatre days end with ward rounds, not with the next case.

Chapter III · The Bench

The bench beside her.

Two people share the work, and neither is interchangeable. You will know both by name before any operation date.

Consultant Anaesthetist · Reg. 000000

Present from induction to emergence on every general anaesthetic case, and at your bedside afterwards.

He reviews your history and your tests before any date is set, and he has declined lists he was not satisfied with. That independence is the point of him.

Imogen Hale, clinical nurse lead at Hadria

Imogen Hale

Clinical Nurse Lead

Runs your dressings, sutures and reviews. Your first call after surgery is answered by her.

She runs the dressing clinics, the suture lists, and the quiet check-ins between appointments. If you call the rooms worried, hers is the voice that answers.

Chapter IV · The Rooms

Quiet rooms, good light, no signage.

Hadria occupies six consulting rooms on Ashcroft Row. Travertine walls, raking daylight, and appointments spaced so the corridor is usually empty. It feels less like a clinic because it is run less like one.

Meet her before you decide anything.

An hour across the stone table. Examination, plain counsel, and your fee in writing. Then all the time you need.
