Systems & published prices

The range ladder.

Five systems, coarse to fine, each with what it takes out, what the install includes, what cartridges cost to run and an honest from-price. The quote you eventually get is these numbers with your test readings behind them.

ALL PRICING BELOW IS SAMPLE DATA
A four-stage whole-home filtration rail mounted on a cream brick wall with gauges and a meter.
FIG. 3 · WHOLE-HOME RAIL

SYSTEM 01 · THE HOUSE RAIL

Whole-home filtration

from $2,450

A two- or three-stage rail on the main, so every tap, shower and appliance draws filtered water. Sized from the bench test, not the brochure: sediment staging first, then catalytic carbon matched to your supply's disinfectant.

TAKES OUT

  • Sediment to 5 µm
  • Chlorine & chloramine taste
  • Rust & scale staining

INSTALL INCLUDES

Supply and install by a licensed plumber, isolation valves, first cartridge set and commissioning readings in writing.

CARTRIDGES & RUNNING COST

Cartridges twice a year, about $180 annually. Fitted in a fifteen-minute visit, or posted if you like doing it yourself.

An under-sink reverse osmosis unit with twin cartridges and a storage tank inside a kitchen cupboard.
FIG. 4 · UNDER-SINK RO

SYSTEM 02 · THE DRINKING TAP

Under-sink reverse osmosis

from $640

A dedicated faucet for drinking and cooking water, polished through sediment, carbon and a membrane fine enough to be measured in ten-thousandths. The rest of the house does not need this. The kettle deserves it.

TAKES OUT

  • Dissolved solids & metals
  • Lead & taste carry-over
  • Haze & odour

INSTALL INCLUDES

Faucet, storage tank and install, plumbed to the kitchen sink with a leak tray and shut-off valve.

CARTRIDGES & RUNNING COST

Filters yearly, membrane every two years, about $120 annually.

A galvanised rainwater tank on a timber base beside a farmhouse, plumbed to a filtration take-off.
FIG. 5 · RAINWATER UV RAIL

SYSTEM 03 · THE TANK RAIL

Rainwater filtration & UV

from $1,850

Sediment staging ahead of a UV chamber sized to your actual flow, so tank water arrives at the kitchen as confidently as mains. Built for real roofs, real gutters and honest country dust.

TAKES OUT

  • Leaf litter & sediment
  • Microbiological risk (UV)
  • Tank taste & tint

INSTALL INCLUDES

Rail, UV chamber and lamp, bypass plumbing and a commissioning flow check.

CARTRIDGES & RUNNING COST

Lamp yearly, cartridges with it, about $210 annually.

A water softener vessel and valve head plumbed in copper beside a laundry sink and dryer.
FIG. 6 · SOFTENER INSTALL

SYSTEM 04 · THE SCALE STOP

Water softening

from $1,690

An ion-exchange vessel on the main that trades hardness out of the water before it reaches glass, kettle or heating coil. The hardness reading decides the vessel size. The salt does the quiet work.

TAKES OUT

  • Hardness & scale
  • Kettle crunch & coil fur
  • Shower-screen film

INSTALL INCLUDES

Vessel, valve head, brine cabinet, install and a hardness reading before and after.

CARTRIDGES & RUNNING COST

Salt refills as needed, typically under $90 a year.

A glass of clear water on a cafe counter in front of a commercial espresso machine.
FIG. 7 · COMMERCIAL BENCH

SYSTEM 05 · WATER TO SPEC

Commercial systems

from $1,200

Espresso machines, sterilisers and gym fountains each want different water, written as a specification. We test the site, design to the equipment manual and service on a schedule your supplier will co-sign.

TAKES OUT

  • Scale ahead of boilers
  • Chlorine ahead of espresso
  • Whatever the spec names

INSTALL INCLUDES

Site test, design to the equipment spec sheet, install and a laminated service log by the machine.

CARTRIDGES & RUNNING COST

Serviced quarterly or twice-yearly on a plan, priced by the site.

Asked at the bench

Is the from-price the real price?
It is the installed price for a standard single-story install on accessible plumbing. The test visit turns it into an exact figure before any work is booked, and the covenant bans it moving on the day.
Do I need a whole-home system or just a drinking tap?
Different jobs. The house rail protects skin, appliances and every tap; the RO faucet is a polish for the two litres a day you actually drink. Plenty of homes run one, not both. The readings decide.
Can you service a system someone else installed?
Usually, yes. Bring the cartridge or a photo of the head to the workshop, or let us look during a test visit. If we can get parts, we will put you on the calendar like any of our own installs.
What happens if my readings come back fine?
We tell you, in writing, and leave. It happens more often than the industry admits. The certificate is still yours to keep and the glass of water is still cold.

The last step is the measurement. Book the test and the ladder above turns into a one-line quote with your street's numbers behind it.
