Template Licence
Operated by Genesis Vanguard Pty Ltd trading as noboringsites, Australia. ABN 45 675 551 783 · ACN 675 551 783 · 388 George Street, Sydney NSW 2000.
This is the licence for a template you buy from our source-code marketplace: the actual code, styles, configuration and demo content, delivered to you as a download. It is a single-site licence: one purchase, one live website. It is written in plain English on purpose. Downloading a template means you accept it. If anything is unclear, email [email protected] before you buy and we will answer in plain words.
01 · Scope
Who this is between, and what a template is
“We” and “us” means Genesis Vanguard Pty Ltd trading as No Boring Sites, the seller named on your receipt. “You” means the person or business that bought the template. The template means the source code, styles, configuration and demo content delivered to you after purchase, plus any updates we choose to supply.
The template does not include our underlying build systems, tooling, other templates, or anything not delivered in your download. This licence covers the file you bought, not the machine that makes it.
02 · Licence
What you get
When your payment clears and you download the template, we grant you a licence that is:
- Single site. It covers one production website, for one business or brand, on one primary domain. Staging, development and preview copies of that same site are fine.
- Perpetual. It does not expire and there is no recurring licence fee for the template itself.
- Worldwide and non-exclusive. Other people can buy the same template. If you want category or industry exclusivity, that is a separate arrangement; ask before you buy.
The price for your licence is the amount shown at checkout and on your receipt. Payment is processed by Stripe; card details go to Stripe, never to us.
03 · Your rights
What you may do
- Use the template to build one production website.
- Modify anything: code, styles, structure, content, imagery.
- Deploy that one website anywhere you like, on any host.
- Hand off to one client. If you are an agency or freelancer, you may build the site for one client and hand the finished site to them. When you do, this licence transfers to that client for that site (who takes it subject to the section 04 limits), and your right to reuse the template for anyone else ends unless you buy another licence. One purchase, one end project, always.
- Keep private copies for backup and version control.
- No attribution required. You do not have to credit us, keep a “built by” link, or leave any of our marks on your site. It is yours to make your own.
04 · Limits
What you may not do
- Resell, redistribute, share, publish or sublicense the source, or any modified version of it, in whole or in part, as a template, theme, starter kit, boilerplate, component library, or anything a third party could build a site from.
- List the template, or a derivative of it, on any marketplace, including free ones.
- Rent, lease or lend it.
- Use one licence to build more than one production website, or run a site-building service off a single licence. Each production website needs its own licence.
- Remove or falsify copyright or licence notices that ship with the template or its third-party components.
- Use the template for anything unlawful, deceptive or infringing.
If you are unsure whether something is allowed, ask us first. We reply quickly and we are not unreasonable.
05 · Agency licence
Building for clients: the Extended licence
The standard licence is one production website. If you build websites for clients and need to deploy the same template across more than one project, buy the Extended (Agency) licence, which is a single-site licence times three: priced at three times the single-site price, one purchase lets you build up to three separate production websites for up to three different clients or brands. Beyond three, buy additional licences.
Everything in section 04 still applies. The Extended licence lets you deliver more finished sites; it never lets you hand over, resell or redistribute the template source as a product. The Extended licence is offered at checkout or on request.
Under the Extended licence, each of the three websites is treated as its own single-site licence: one production website for one business or brand on one primary domain, and the section 03 handoff applies per site. When you hand a finished site to its client, that site’s licence transfers to that client and one of your three deliveries is used; your own right to reuse the template continues only for the deliveries you have left.
06 · Demo content
Demo content must be replaced
The template ships with fictional demo content: names, credentials, prices, phone
numbers, results claims, addresses. Every fictional item is listed in the
demo-manifest.json file in your download, together with any replacement
tooling or guide we include with your template. You must replace all demo content with
your own true content before going live. If your industry is regulated (for example
health, legal or financial services), meeting the advertising and disclosure rules of
that industry is part of that obligation. You are responsible for the accuracy
and legality of everything you publish.
07 · Ownership
Who owns what
- We, or our licensors, own the template: the code, design and structure, and all intellectual property rights in them. You are buying a licence, not the copyright.
- You own your content: your brand, logos, text, imagery, data, and anything you create and add to your site.
- Modifications you make are yours to use within your licensed website, but they do not give you ownership of the underlying template, or any right to redistribute it.
08 · Plan credit bundle
Plan credit bundle (only if you bought one)
If you bought the template bundled with a prepaid noboringsites plan (the “Plan”), we credit that prepaid amount against the template price at checkout; on some plans that makes the template free. The credit is applied up front. Your template licence is yours to keep, and is never revoked if you later cancel the Plan. The Plan itself is a month-to-month subscription under its own terms: cancel anytime, with a 14-day grace period after which the hosted version of your site goes offline. Cancelling the Plan early never creates a debt: there is no minimum term and no discount repayment. The credit and what it assumes are disclosed at checkout before you opt in, and the Plan is never pre-selected.
09 · Support
Updates and support
Your purchase includes the template as delivered. We may ship fixes or improvements from time to time; if we do, they are covered by this same licence, but we are not obliged to update the template. Buying the file includes delivery and reasonable help getting your download; it does not include build support, customisation, or debugging your deployment. Ongoing support, monitoring and maintenance are what noboringsites plans are for, and are sold separately.
10 · Third parties
Third-party components
The template depends on third-party open-source packages and fonts. These are not ours
and are not covered by this licence; they come to you under their own licences, listed
in the THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES file generated for your exact template version.
All of them permit commercial use of your built site. We ship template source plus
package.json and package-lock.json; you run
npm install to pull the dependencies (including the animation libraries)
directly, under your own acceptance of their terms. Keep their notices intact where
those licences require it. If you replace or add dependencies, checking their licences
is on you.
11 · Refunds
Refunds
The template is delivered instantly as a download, so a sale cannot be un-made once you have the files. For that reason, all sales are final once the template has been downloaded, and we do not give change-of-mind refunds after download. If you have not downloaded yet and want to cancel, email us and we will sort it out.
Nothing in this section excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement. If the template is faulty, not as described, or not fit for a purpose we told you it was fit for, your rights and remedies under that law still apply, regardless of download. The wider refund and cancellation picture (builds, your plan) lives on our Refunds page.
12 · Warranty
No warranty
The template is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise it is error free, that it fits your particular purpose, or that it will work with every hosting setup, browser, or future dependency version. We build carefully and gate every template through automated checks before release, but you are responsible for testing your finished site before you launch it.
Nothing in this section excludes guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Where the law lets us limit our liability for breach of such a guarantee, our liability is limited, at our choice, to replacing the template, supplying an equivalent template, or refunding what you paid for it.
13 · Liability
Liability limits
To the extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data, or business interruption arising from the template or your use of it.
- Our total liability under this agreement is capped at the amount you paid us for the template.
- You are responsible for what you publish with the template, including claims, pricing, testimonials, and regulatory compliance for your industry.
The same Australian Consumer Law carve-out in section 12 applies here.
14 · Termination
Termination
This licence ends automatically if you materially breach section 04 and do not fix the breach within 14 days of us telling you about it. If the licence ends, you must stop distributing the template source; a site already built and deployed for your one licensed website may keep running. Sections 04, 07, 12, 13, 15 and 16 survive termination.
15 · Law
Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts of New South Wales and the federal courts of Australia have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you bought from outside Australia, you keep any consumer rights of your own country that cannot be excluded, and nothing in this clause takes them away.
