Choose between a template, a build and a plan

The question that decides it is what you are starting from, and the answer points at one of the three lanes, or at two of them held together.

A custom build is a website, an app or a business system designed around your business and handed to you finished. A template is a finished site you buy once and install yourself, licensed for one live site. A plan is Standard Hosting and Care: we host and look after a site you already have.

The question that decides it#

If you are unsure, start from what you have and what you need.

  • You need something nobody else can buy - a custom build. It is drawn for you and it is not resold.
  • You have a developer, or you are one - a template. It is yours to change and you run it.
  • You already have a site and want it looked after - a plan. We host it, and if it breaks it is ours to fix.

Commission a build if#

A build is the answer when the site has to be yours alone.

  • The design must be exclusive to you. A build is drawn for your business and not sold again.
  • The scope is more than a website. An app, a customer portal, an internal tool or systems that talk to each other is a build.
  • You want it handed over finished. You approve a live preview, not a mockup.
  • You want it hosted afterwards. A build carries its own hosting and a plan takes it from there.

Buy a template if#

The marketplace suits one specific kind of buyer.

  • You want it today. The download link is emailed as soon as your payment settles.
  • You are comfortable at a command line. It is a code project, not a drag and drop editor.
  • You do not mind a shared design. The licence is non-exclusive, so another business can buy the same template.
  • You want to host it yourself. No plan is required and none is implied.

Start a plan if#

The plan is the lane for a site that already exists.

  • We built it, or you bought the template from us. Standard hosts a site you already have.
  • You want no maintenance. Hosting, SSL and the database behind it are ours to run.
  • You want changes made for you. Email us what you need and we quote it before any work starts.
  • You want it looked after. If a site we host breaks, email us and it is ours to fix.
  • Check it is open. The pricing page shows whether Standard can be started today or is taking a waitlist.

You can hold more than one#

The three are not exclusive.

  • A build plus a plan - the build is yours outright, and the plan keeps it hosted.
  • A template plus a plan - buy the template, then let us host it and look after it.
  • Neither renews the other. Cancelling a plan never touches what you own.
