Why this split exists#

The line is drawn where the work is, not where the value is.

• Words and pictures are content, and content changes constantly.
• Structure is the shape of the page, and reshaping it is a rebuild of that page.
• Metering the first would make the site worse, because you would stop fixing typos.

What does draw on the allowance#

The short version, in full on its own page.

• Adding a section.
• Changing a layout.
• Restructuring a page.
• And only when you publish it - drafting and staging cost nothing.

The practical consequence#

Two habits worth forming.

• Fix copy the moment you notice it. There is no reason to batch it.
• Batch structural changes instead, since each publish is what counts.
